Performance Uniform
Each new dancer will wear a Heartland Irish Dancers school costume at performances and competitions. This includes a combination of a black leotard and embroidered skirt/sash for girls and a dress shirt, dress pants and embroidered cummerbund/ vest for boys. Outdoor performances and parades may require additional layers depending on the weather.
Qualifying for a Solo Costume
A Solo Costume is a dress or vest where the design & colors are chosen by the dancer and approved by the teacher.
Requirements for Competitive Dancers:
A dancer must place in the top three of a Novice Hard Shoe Dance and a Novice Soft Shoe Dance. |
Requirements for Non-Competitive Dancers:
A dancer must learn and master two steps of the slow speed treble jig and the slow speed hornpipe. |
Class Uniform
Dancers are asked to wear an HID t-shirt or Feis t-shirt to each class with leggings or shorts of a modest length. A variety of HID t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and other gear are available for purchase year-round at our squadlocker.com store.
